When a puppy’s owners know that he is suffering from a delicate illness, but do nothing to help him, it is a case of terrible neglect. There are even cases where people are willing to leave them on the street to save money on medical expenses.
Veterinarians estimate this puppy is between 6 and 7 years old.
This is the case of a yellow puppy named Henry , who was found by the police with a tumor weighing no less than 20kg . They found him wandering on a beach, trying to find food; and when they got close to him and saw how serious his tumor was, they decided to do everything they could to help him .
“He has so much life and love to give so we wanted to give him a second chance.”
Valerie Schomburg, Superintendent of Animal Control at the Newport Beach Police Department, shared how surprising the case was. Henry is the sweetest dog I’ve ever met , but the huge tumor on his side is making life extremely difficult.
The weight of the tumor was almost twice the weight of the animal.
His front legs made an enormous effort to support Henry and in order to relieve himself he had a hard time finding a suitable position that would not cause him great pain from the tumor.
According to vets, the tumor posed an imminent risk to Henry’s life and promised to continue to grow.
Valerie was not the only one who was shocked by the advanced state of Henry’s tumor, the doctors who treated him were moved to meet him:
“Most of the veterinarians who treated him had never seen a tumor this large before ”
Valerie shared the case of the cute Henry, and there were many anonymous donors who decided to give their bit so that the operation that the cute golden needed so much could be performed.
Valerie was able to raise almost all of Henry’s medical expenses through donations.
The operation of such a large tumor did not promise to be easy , but luckily the doctors were able to remove it completely . After a few weeks Henry was completely healthy and without any tumor . Now he looks like another dog and he doesn’t stop running and playing to celebrate that they saved his life.
His legs and hips were affected a little by the extra weight of the tumor, but Henry won’t suffer any serious consequences.
After exhaustive investigations, the police managed to find Henry’s owner, who initially lied and assured that the dog was not hers . The evidence indicated otherwise, and now the woman will have to face charges for animal neglect and obstruction of justice.
Sherri Haughton, the owner, will have to pay a fine of more than $7,000.
It is a relief that cute Henry is free of that terrible tumor and that the person responsible for such terrible neglect has also been found.
We invite you to share the impressive improvement of this cute golden to celebrate his new life.
